Michael Tolan possibly from Foxford
« on: Monday 16 August 10 17:00 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information on Michael Tolan (b c1880) possibly from Foxford who lived at 7 Hough Lane Wombwell in1950.  7 Hough Lane also seems to be known as Cliff House.  Wombwell is a district of Barnsley in England.
He died on 11th April 1950 aged 70 and was buried in the Catholic section of Wombwell cemetery on the 15th April 1950.
The service was carried out by Father Clancy of Wombwell Catholic Church.

Hi Nurmal,

have you looked at the Irish censuses http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
There are only 3 round about the right age in 1901 and 2 in 1911. Unless, of course, he was in England then  ???

Hi heywood
I did look on the Irish census.  There is also a Michael Tolan on the 1881 UK census with his parents from Mayo.  This also fits except that he may have actually been born in England of Irish parents.
The only definite fact I have is his death in the Barnsley area.  I cannot find any other descendants in the area.
