i am looking for the maiden name of one of my ancestors, ann tranter she was widowed when she married francis head in 1820 in claverley, they had 3 children maria b 1822, francis b 1823, anne b 1826.

here is what i have found out about my family:-

1915 - second marriage of Francis Head to Esther Pickering on 11/4/1915. The father of Francis was John Head, the father of Esther Pickering was John Pickering.

1914 - Rachel Emily dies at the age of 37

1913 - The infant Francis Head son of Francis and Rachel Emily born and died in or around Dec 1913

1909 - There is also a Mary Evangelina Head christened at Witton 14/1/1909 daughter of Francis and Rachel Emily.

1905 - There is a Frances Head christened 3/8/1905 at Witton a daughter to Francis and Rachel Emily, this will probably be Cissy.

1901 - The already mentioned Francis and Rachel are living apart she in Northwich, he in Tunstall, Staffs. Francis is 26

1897 - John Francis Head (see entry below) dies.

1896 - John Francis Head born 5 May 1896 Christened 11 June 1896

1895 - We have the first marriage of Francis Head to Rachel Emily Kettle on 18/9/1895. Rachels father was John Kettle.

1891 - 29 Elizabeth Street, Widnes. Francis is of course not married yet and is still living with his parents and family. They are father John (38) from Brewood, Staffs, mother Margaret (35) from Wakefield, There is of course Francis (16) born in Runcorn, Margaret (14) born in Bolton, John (8 ) born in Runcorn, Mary (6) born in Runcorn and I think it is Phoebe (4) born in Runcorn.

1881 - Granville Street, Runcorn. The family are father John (28), mother Margaret (24), Francis (6), Margaret Harriet (4) and Charlotte (18 months) also his Father in Law John Forster or Foster


1871 - John is a bit harder to find but there is an 18 year old John Head born in Brewood living as a boarder in Wolverhampton, this could be him.

1861 - John is 8 and at Dean Street in Brewood where he was born. He is living with his family, father Francis (37) from Claverley, mother Harriet from Brewood, Charlotte (11) born in Cannock, Thomas (3) born in Brewood and Isaac (1) born in Brewood.

1855 – Thomas Head christened 21/7/1855 at St Mary, Brewood to parents Francis Head and Harriet

1851 Francis (27) & Harriet (26) and 3 month old Charlotte at Dean St, Brewood

1850 Charlotte Head christened 29/12/1850 at Cannock daughter of Francis Head and Harriet

1826 Anne Head christened in Claverley on 8.10/1826 to parents Francis Head and Ann

1823 Francis Head christened in Claverley on 14/9/1823 to parents Francis Head and Ann (this is the Francis that we saw in 1851 with Harriet and baby Charlotte

1822 Maria Head christened in Claverley on 8/7/1822 to parents Francis Head and Ann

1820 Francis Head marriage to Ann Tranter in Claverley on 9/10/1820
