Hi Janet,

Is this family connected to you as this is the first I have come across anybody remotely connected to me along the Norris line.

Would you know the father of this George?

Many thanks for your trouble.
Lesanne.

Its Fred Norris I am interested in.  My father was fostered as a child (before adoption at the Mission of Hope London) he was born in 1924 his mother had been widowed 2 years prior to the birth and the fathers name on the Mission of Hope papers were Fred Norris whose occupation was an electrician.  Her husband Edwin Wilkins came from Hook Norton Oxon and the Wilkins ran a hotel/pub called the Albion in Hook Norton.  Mary Wilkins (nee George) did not return to Montgomeryshire where her family was after Edwins death.  Previously they had lived in Ebbw Vale but after the death of Edwin the house was vacated, therefore could she have been in Oxon and met Fred Norris there?  Do you know what Fred Norris occupation was and when he married.  A long shot I know!

Regards

Janet

Hi Janet.
No Sorry I don't have any info as yet.
But if I do I shall put up a post.
I am working on the line abit further back (early 1800's).

Have a look at the tingewick sites. They have a bit on Norris's that moved about the country.

Hope that helps . Lesanne.

thanks - what are twingewick sites!

Please keep me in mind when you get a bit more up to date with the Norris as I would love to solve the mystery as a Fred Norris would be my granddad that I never knew.

Hi Janet.

Put Tingewick into search on yahoo or similar. perhaps with a /norris.

The reason for George to be verified is that I have 3 or 4 son's of son's by the same name. If I knew which one was your's I might work out who's who..... :-\

But that's the fun of this geanie hobby of ours.

All the best.
Lesanne.   :)

Hi Janet,
I'm looking through my files to see your Mill Str family. I have George and Sarah living at No 10. in 1881 census, Alice was 1 yr old at this time... I have papers everywhere.
         :-\
Not sure who was Georges father as that would help find Georges children. I have a few Fred's.
One in particular that was born 1880 Hurley Berks. Does that tie in with your dates.
           :D
I also have a Frances c1830, she came  from Montgomeryshire, Berriew area.

Other area's mine are spead Bray, Berks. Middx & Hammersmith London. Rotherfield Greys, Oxon.
