Lavinia missing
« on: Wednesday 18 August 10 21:32 BST (UK) »
Lavinia Ann Forrest Lloyd
born 1842, Mile end Old town, London.(sometimes as St george in the east)

She never married,  in 1871 she was in St george in the east,
in 1911 she was in Hackney.
but I can't find her anywhere in between ('81, '91, '01)
It's driving me mad !
it must be a transcriber error with her name as I have had Lavinia spelt Laverna etc, but I really have no idea how to find her !
so would welcome any suggestions  ;D

have you tried searching for her as Loyd?  Or Laura?  Sometimes you just have to be very inventive.  I once found someone called Stevens who had been mistranscribed as Howard, but only because her son by her previous marriage was with her under his own surname.  Looking at the image, if you didnt' know it was meant to say Stevens, Howard wasn't a bad guess - but none of the letters were the same!

On the other hand, missing on 3 censuses seems a bit excessive.  Do you think she used her second name Ann?
