« on: Thursday 19 August 10 12:12 BST (UK) »
George Hornby in my family tree, I believe emigrated to Canada in 1906, He departed from Liverpool and his port of Arrival was St John NB the departure date was 12th April 1906, sailing on the Pretorian, He was born in Prescot Lancashire in 1854, if anyone has access to Canadian census records and could find him I would be very grateful.

Sammy.

That passenger record is for 28 year old George Hornby (b. 1878 Yorkshire), trade Butcher, heading for Hamilton.

What occupation did your George follow and is he definitely on the 1901 English census so we can rule out any earlier arrivals?

You could look into the death March Q. 1903  for a George Hornby    age 46 / Prescot / 8b - 471
