Crimean war medal rolls.
« on: Saturday 21 August 10 05:36 BST (UK) »
Hi all

Has anyone got access to the medal rolls for the Crimean war, I'm looking for George Collins, possibly George Eli Collins. he was born 1831 and served in the 47th regiment of foot soldiers.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Mick.

Hi Mick

2392 Private George E Collins was awarded the medal with clasps for Alma and Inkerman. There are gaps in the section for the Sebastopol clasp. Have you looked for his record on Findmypast? It may give the clasps in that.

Ken

Hi Ken

Thank you very much for doing that for me. I have his discharge papers from Findmypast, however although it mentions five years good conduct there is no mention of badges of merit or galant conduct.
These are obviously his papers relating to his discharge due to bad health ( Chelsea pensioners) is there any chance there may be other military paperwork relating to him?

Thanks again Ken

Mick.
