In 1901 his birthplace is Bermondsey Surrey

In 1891 it's Horsleydown London

This is a possible 1871 entry for 9 Gainford St St Olave Southwark indexed as KATTHER.  The image is poor quality but all children were b Horsleydown St John

There is only one way forward her in view of the uncertainties re: spellings etc

A copy of his birth cert will establish once and for all who his parents were

If they are confirmed as John and Frances (Dawson) then the 1888 marriage details are correct and John's father was DANIEL and you should then read the 1871 details already posted plus the 1863 marriage details of his parents

The father of Daniel b 1870 was born Ireland whilst his mother Ellen was b Middlesex

My father has confirmed that it was Frances Dawson, therefore seems the rest of the details will be correct...

Does anyone have details of the Daniel born in Ireland? We didn't know there was Irish blood in the family...
