I have just found 3 births from the Kalcher/Nye marriage indexed as Kaleher

If your Daniel did die in 1948 - then he is not the one b 1891 as he was 42 when he died in 1948

Re: the 1901 entry under Kelcher.  It looks promising but they are Kelleher in 1891 as per the image  RG12 Piece 368 Folio 117 Page 34

My mother told me that the family name did change many years ago, she said it was Kelleher and as one of my relatives was drunk when they signed a certificate it changed to Kalcher!! Does this help?? :)

The family that Keyboard found in 1901 as Kelcher, are Kelleher in 1891 and also in 1881.  In view of what you say about the change of name, it is highly likely it is the same family

John Kelleher b 1867 Bermondsey

I really think it would be safer to buy a copy of Daniels birth cert to be absolutely certain

A gentle reminder, in accordance with Rootschat 'no living people' policy, please do not post any information about children who may have been born to the couple who married in 1931.

This is the marriage I think:-

John Kelchar (But it could be read as Kelehar 22 occ Lab)
Francis Dawson 19

At St Johns Church Walworth

Grooms Father Daniel Kelchar occ Lab
Brides Joseph occ Carman

Marriage took place on 28th October 1888

Witnesses Joseph and Elizabeth Dawson

Stuck again!

I have found all the above and tried to go back further but to no avail!!

Are there any other hints to help find out further lines of family?
