What happen to Ann Bull nee Stock? *Complete*
« on: Saturday 21 August 10 20:09 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am stumped trying to find a death for Ann Bull nee Stock B~1851 in Eaton Socon.  I lose her after 1901 in Little Staughton where she is a widow living on Church Lane.  Caring for a 4 year old boarder.

I have looked for a death under Bull and looked for another marriage in Bedfordshire to no avail.

If chatters can help that would be great.

There's an Anne Bull age 59 living in Lt Staughton in 1911. You'll need to buy some credits to see if this is the same Ann.

Have you tried FreeBMd at www.freebmd.org.uk ? It has the death of an Ann Bull age 78 in the June quarter 1927 in St Neots registration district, which includes Lt Staughton, which might be her. It will cost you £9-25 to prove whether or not she's yours

Just stopped my self spending £9.25 by going through my bought and dismissed certs.

June quarter 1927 in St Neots - I have.  Occupation "wife of Sam Bull agricultural labourer".  My Ann late husband was John Pell Bull.  Which is why I dismissed her, as mine.

Splashed some cash....

In 1911  Anne Bull, age 59, widow, is a nurse, in the family of Pevey Percy James Bolton or Rolton, (Baby Bolton <1month)

Postal address is Rectory or Hickory Farm, Little Staughton.

Her declared age over the years is consistent with birth 1852, apologies I have birth cert for Ann Stock (missed that info off initial post).

There is also a Ann Bull in the 1911 census age 62 wife of Samuel Bull also age 62.  which agrees with the 1927 death cert.

So still looking for the death of my Ann Bull nee Stock post 1911

Any help gratefully received.

You appear to have access to the GRO registers, the same as us. I don't think there's any quick and easy answer as she doesn't seem to have had her death registered in St Neots registration district. So she possibly moved away, to stay with children perhaps?

There's a death in Peterborough in the June quarter 1916, age 65. It might be a case of checking back to 1911 and 1901 to see if this one was living in Peterborough at that time. If she was she can be ruled out.

David

Hi David,

I have been bashing my head with this one for 3 years, so I suppose on this one I was using the chatters as a sounding board as to what I had over looked.

Thanks for your assistance I will check out where her children were residing.
