Hi Alan

William and Ann are my gggg grandparents.
1789 Thomas Bates is my ggg grandfather
1813 William is my gg grandfather who married Fanny Males
1839 William is my g grandfather who married Mary Raison
1889 CHARLES ELGIN is my grandfather who married Beatrice Miller and they had one son only born 1926 Kenneth Charles Bates my father.
I remember seeing Rhoda, Eveline and a couple more of them when I was very small when we came home on holiday. I know there are a few Mortons left in Chipperfield.
I will try and work out what relationship your wife is to us.

Thanks for getting back in touch.

Hi Alan   As Charles and William were brothers, and Charles was my dads father, I think that makes William and Mary Morton my dads Aunt and Uncle. Therefore they are my great Aunt and Uncle, so your wife and I are 2nd cousins. It gets confusing.

Best Wishes

Vee
