Not always Kate. You can't take it for granted on marriage certs. where parent(s) show as not deceased that in fact they had not already passed away. Just one of those things that can throw you off sometimes.

If you, I would start with checking the death cert for Isabella we have found to check on her husband's name and occupation (assume it will be blacksmith from that 1851 entry we have).

Can't see any birth/christening entries coming up for children to a James Broatch and Isabella on IGI or SP. As has been mentioned before, there may be no records to be found for them for all sorts of reasons previously discussed.

i have jsut got the Marriage Cert for James Broach m.1845 his father was James Broach and was a Blacksmith, so there is no doubt that they are brothers again it does not mention that the father James Broach was deceased.  I was jsut looking at Robert Broach who was another brother and his first daughter was MAry after her mother and thesecond Isabella, which would fit quie nicely into Isabella broach being the mother.

i was just looking for Peter Broatch who was the brother of Robert, James and George.  i have found him in the 41, 51 and 61 Scotland Census's, but not after that, i was wondering if there are any burial/death registers that may be able to help me out as to when he died, he was born about 1821, in Holywood, Dumfries, but lived in Kirkmichael, Dumfries.

Thanks

Hi Kate

Can't comment on burial place, but I think Peter died in Dumfries in 1873.

This looks like him with mother in 1871 - rubbish transcription for which you will need to view the original to confirm details. Fits well with the 1861 family entry - www.maxwellancestry.com/census/51transcript.aspx?houseid=83604013:

Isabella Baroch 34, blacksmith's widow b. Dumfries
Peter Baroch 52, son b. Hollywood, Dumfriesshire
Sarah Newland 5 grandchild b. Kirkmichael, Dumfriesshire

Address: Nethermill, Kirkmichael

hi
My great great grandfather is Edwin forester of burslem
England was also searched as robert broach
in the period 1841-1862 in sargadelos had a large colony of English, French and German working both in the ironworks and pottery
edwin forester was technical director of the porcelain factory
would be interesting to discover the function of robert broach in ironworks

could you send me the dates of children born in Spain of robert
I would try to look in the registry of births and probably bring more data logging

If anyone has information about forester Edwin 1820? Burslem-1870? would be good

 thanks and regards

Hi,
I believe that there were 3 children born in Spain to Robert and Mary Broach they were:
Isabella born about 1846
Robert born about 1850
George born about 1853

thanks for that  ;D
