Can anyone help me with the following problems.
1. William Spink born in walsall between 1858 - 1862.
He married a Sarah Prinn (Prynn) in Plymouth in 1888.
I know William was a naval seaman. How do I find what
    vessel he served on?

2. Henry Spink born about 1836 is believed to have been a saddler by trade.  Henry was Williams father. I am looking for Henrys marriage details (possibly married to a Mary who came from America). I believe he was born in Walsall also but can find no record of either birth or marriage.

You could try

A great site for 1881 census searching if looking for someone on board a vessel.

Hi Munchies,

Thankyou for the info on William.   On Williams Marriage certificate  his father Henry was a Saddler.

Any further information would be appreciated.

I take it you have already seen them in the 1881 census both Henry and William are there.

The henry that I have found in the 1881 census was taken in Liverpool and his occupation is a Redlar. I assume this was a mistake and should have been a Saddler. So yes I probably have found Henry and his wife Mary.  But for some reason I cannot find his birth or marriage info. If it is the right couple and she was american, they could possibly have married in the U.S.? If so how do I find this info.?

Hello Munchies.

The Henry that I have on the 1881 census has his occupation listed as a Redlar. I take this to be a mistake and should have been a Saddler, as it is on Williams Marriage Certificate. The problem is that I cannot find Henrys birth or marriage to Mary, who it would appear was born in America. How do I go about finding out?

Kind regards Suej
