Looks quite possible, Tati.

Maybe the Fred who went to USA  married Elsie < unknown surname> out there.

Fred - what is Fred's father's name and occupation on the marriage cert?

Does it tie in with your other info?

No, it doesn't tie in, but I do have reason to believe why, due to a possible bit of friction in the family.

On the marriage cert it states, Fred's fathers name as "Michael".
My Fred's father was another Frederick.

Oh, I do hope we haven't been barking up the wrong tree...

Just been looking, Tati -

It looks as if Fred, son of Michael,  married  Elsie Millicent Burgess but Fred, son of Fred married another Elsie - or even someone else that we don't know about at all  ???

Do we have proof that the Fred in the USA is Fred, son of Fred?

I have just been sent by a friend, the departure of my Fred, (son of my Fred from Canning Town) from Southampton on the SS Aquitainia August 1920 and it states he is single.

Looks like I am wrong... I am sorry. It seems that I got the wrong marriage cert.

Oh, I am sorry and would like to thank you both for ALL the work you have done.

Fred.

PS.
My Fred in America IS married to a ELSIE in 1930 in Illinoi...

Are you sure that that is Fred, Fred?

If so we'll have to try to find a marriage for them in America  - or info on one of the three daughters  that might give us her surname.

Hi Gadget.

I'm sorry.

Yes, my Fred is the right Fred in America. On the departure document it states his home address in the uk as 2 Tyas Road, Canning town. This is where many of my family lived.

Fred

PS. There are so many Fred's, in my family. LOL
