Sarah Whittam - Birkenhead

I have just received the death certificates of my Greatx4 Grandparents, William & Mary Brown, who died in Birkenhead in 1884. On both certificates their daughter Sarah Whittman was the informant. They died at 8 Wesley St which is possibly Sarahs residence.

Has anyone on here been researching the Whittmans of Cheshire? With Sarahs maiden name being Brown it is a bit hard to nail down the first name of her husband but from the census records of the Brown family Sarah goes missing after the 1861 census (where she was 13 years old) so I guess she was married between 1861 and 1871.

The 1881 Census shows a Thomas and Sarah WHITTAM living 10 Wesley St Birkenhead Cheshire.  This sounds like it could be your girl.

1871 she is married to Thomas and they are living St Mary's Circus Birkenhead.

1871 Census - Thomas and Sarah at 15 St Mary Avenue, Birkenhead  ages 27 and 24. Surname shown as Whottam. He was born in Tunstall, she in Irby.

1901 at 8 Wesley Street Birkenhead. Surname shown as Whittham, ages 56 and 53.
