Lanyon Mill COMPLETED
« on: Tuesday 31 August 10 10:05 BST (UK) »
I want to locate on a map, the following land that was “leased” by my ancestor.

It appeared in a 1640 Will, in the name of David LANION [LANYON]
He was of the Parish of Maddern [Madron].

It was described as “the land belonging to Lanion Mill”.
Another item was “a tenement in Bussulloe [Bosullow] that I hold by the demise of Sr Francis LANGDON Kt and Senobia PRIDEAUX widow”

I have found a reference that someone has transcribed from the book "Madron's Story" 2001 “Lanyon Mill was near Little Bosullow and was said to consist of two mills, one milling produce for human consumption, the other, for livestock feed. Adjoining was a house for the miller and for a skilled millwright engineer. It was the scene of a tragic accident in 1940 when the miller, Robert Penberthy, was caught by his jacket in the cogs and crushed, killing him instantly. The mill never worked again.”

Can anyone help me?

Regards
Grantley
