Hi everyone, just having a stroll through the message boards and came across this not so recent thread.
Anything from PSP8 onwards should be more than adequate for improving Photos. If you just want to resize a photo to post or email then try this free to download prog. Very easy to use.

Hi,

I noticed that you mentioned photshop Elements. I have that version and as a beginner find it very easy to use and has enough options to improve my pic's as I am only a hobby photographer I don't need much more.

Try Elements  and see how before you pay out for the full versions.

Good luck with your editing

This month's issue of 'Your Family Tree' magazine has Serif Photo Plus 8 free on the cover disc with a couple of pages of tutorials inside. This has got all you'll need to start restoring your photos.

I would strongly advise AGAINST buying the full version of Adobe Photoshop if you are a beginner. It's meant for professional graphic artists - you won't learn it in a weekend! Start with one of these cheaper programs such as Corel Paint Shop Pro, Ulead Photo Impact or Adobe Photoshop Elements - all available for under £60.

A more expensive programme won't make you a better restorer - only patience will!
