Murray mystery
« on: Wednesday 01 September 10 13:00 BST (UK) »
I have been having trouble with a missing link. I know this is a longshot but someone here may know I hope.

My grandmother is Stella Watt Murray born 1933 but I am not sure who to, I think it may be an Alexander Murray son of William Murray. If I am right Alexander was born in 1900.

Obviously the big problem is that this falls outside the census as I have Alexander at age 1 but nothing more recent than that.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Hi and Welcome to Rootschat  :)

Her birth registration is on the Scotlands People site www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk in the name that you have given in Marykirk, 1933.

Because it is so recent, you can't view it online but you can order the certificate via the site.

This will show her parents' names and occupations

Also, her marriage certificate  in 1956 in Laurencekirk would also give the details
