Hi Kaza ...

What is your source for Frances's whereabouts in 1855?  "Peterbourgh, Northumberland" doesn't seem to exist - perhaps it could be "Peterborough, Northamptonshire"?  (Which is possibly why you're posting on this board!)

Likewise, I can find no record of "Pantepach, Yorkshire" - is this recorded on a later census for Thomas Jnr.?

There is no Peterborough within the Northumberland registration Districts nor Pentepach with any of the Yorkshire registration districts either.

There is however a record of a Thomas Smith Sept. q. PONTEFRACT (yorkshire)  22 - 429

Have you found Thomas and Frances in 1841 ???  as I think you need to find that first and then continue forward through the census's

As Pennie has said, how do you know where  Frances was 1855 as its between the census's  ???

I did find a Thomas Smith as a Inmate Parish Oldham, Waterhead  Mill Lancashire what was this place Huh this was the only Thomas with Occ butcher

Is this on the 1851 census's, if so can you please post the full reference numbers.

Millbank was a prison, so if he is listed as an Inmate he was a prisoner.

Hi
My source for Frances in 1855 was Thomas and Frances son Joseph b.1855 in ( your right  )" Peterborough Northamptonshire" on his birth certificate it said Thomas  Smith deaceced, Railway Servant
I found Frances B. 1816 Lancashire and Thomas B. 1811 Lancashire with daughter Hannah 8 months old on the 1841 Census in Lancashire
On the 1861 Census for Lancashire Civil Parish Hulme, Holy Trinity, Reg District Chorlton.  I found Fanny Smith B. 1818 Head, Beer Seller, sons Thomas B.abt 1843 Pantepach, Yorkshire, Joseph B.abt 1855 Peterborough, Northamptonshire , daughter Sophia B.abt 1853 Boston, Lincolnshire
On Frances Silcock and Thomas Smith Marrage in the church St Marys Manchester on the 5 May 1835 Thomas was a Butcher also on Josephs Marrage certificate Thomas  was a butcher
I was just guessing they would be in Northamptonshire in 1851 as Joseph was born there and Thomas must have died sometime in the 9 months before Joseph was born  I havent norrowed down Thomas's Death yet. Dose this make any better sence ??? hope you can help me get past my brickwall
Thanks Kaza

Hi Kaza.

I am not sure where the mix-up is.

On one post you say Thomas is a Railway person (deceased) on Joseph's
birth certificate and then a Butcher on Joseph's marriage certificate.

I wonder if you can clarify that we are not looking for 2 different families
please.

It is getting more confussing.  :-\

Thomas in 1st post is born in 1811 and the 1851 entry for Thomas
would make him born in 1801.

We really would like to help Kaza if we could be sure on who, where,
etc.  :)
