Hi,

If you have an ancestry subscription but have not already seen it, there is an advertisement in the 7th April 1775 Edinburgh Advertiser under William's name, (Newspapers & Periodical section) advertising the sale of his Treatise on Practical Arithmetic and also asking for a house to rent in Edinburgh as he wishes to remove from Kelso.

If you can't access the image, send me a PM and I'll forward it.

Regards,
brigau

Hi

You can read one of William Perry's books, 'Man of business and gentleman's assistant' (1777) online at Google books.

He describes himeself as a master at the Edinburgh Academy at this date.
