There were two women with this name; Mary Anna who married Albert and this one:

1943 Electoral Roll
Mackay

12 Holland Street
Arthur BROWNSEY, farmer
Mary BROWNSEY, home duties

Arthur died in 1946

1949
Mackay

12 Holland Street
Mary BROWNSEY
Thomas James WOOLF

1954
Mackay

12 Holland Street
Mary BROWNSEY
Thomas James WOOLF

Arthur BROWNSEY married Annie Eleanor HORTON/PORTER in 1891, and she died in 1926.  The online marriages only go to 1934 so if Arthur and Mary married it was probably after this date.  Mary's death cert should give details.  Arthur and Thomas were both farming at Dow's Creek in the 1930's.

Thank you all for all your help and ideas. Mary was born in 1882 so that was not on the Almora.
We know the name of the daughter she left which her parents but have no idea of her son's name. He was probably born between 1903-1907. Yes, we found all the Electoral census and did notice brother and sister together.
Mary had her daughter in 1910 and then left her in England.
Mary also only had the name Mary----have found no record of a second name at all.
Also the name Male is not connected in the least.
Does any one know of online cemetery records we could access---that could provide us with some more leads.
Once again thanks to you all..

Hi Crackpot,

Finally I believe I have it.  ;D

I hunted for any Mary in Dow's Creek and found Mary BARRATT in 1925, 1934 and 1936. She seemed initially to be living with David Henry and Emily (David a farmer the women H/D.) She is not with David and Emily in 1943 nor do I spot a death. Furthur hunting has led me to believe she married Arthur during this period. (1936-1943)

Departed London 31 Dec 1924 aboard the THEMISTOCLES destination Brisbane

BARRATT Mrs Emily 21 Housewife
BARRATT David 6 Months
BARRATT Mrs Mary 41 Housewife
BARRATT Margaret 10

Residence in UK 15 Well St Eccles New Rd Salford Manchester. Intended permanent residence in Australia

I suspected but wasn't sure I was until I found David's death  ;D

1960 David Henry BARRATT father James   mother Mary Woolf C2130

David Henry BARRATT was born in Salford in Mar 1/4 1903 8d 132

David Henry BARRATT = Emily E ASPEY Jun 1/4 1923 Salford 89 189

David departed London 10 Nov 1923 aboard the ORVIETO destination Brisbane

BARRATT Mr H D aged 26 Porter residence in UK 15 Wild St Eccles New Rd Salford Manchester. Intended permanent residence in Australia.

This address is clearly Wild the other one Well  (misheard with one of them - clearly the same place)

They can be found in the 1911 census in Salford. You will need to undertake the lookup yourself - we are unable to help with 1911

http://www.1911census.co.uk/

BARRATT Margaret = GREEVES Percy George 1930 C2469

They can also be found in the electoral rolls in Mackay - I see you have electoral Roll access so will leave you to find the details

Cheers Kris  :)

Hi
It is another odd coincidence that the maiden surname  of the mother of the BROWNSEY men  (ALBERT & ARTHUR) bears a resmblance to the BARRATT surname youhave found KRIS.

BARRITT ???

Hi
Well nice to see that one settled.

Thought I would put this little discovery here for interest sake in case it helps others in the future.

Since QLD BDM has recently enabled a Wildcard search it is possible to search for deceased without knowing their first or surname if you know the mothers maiden name or the father's name .

It is tedious but is sometmes the only way.

You simply put A****** in surname

Fill in whatever parental names you have , dates etc and search.

Next put B****** in surname

Repeat.

Interestingly I was this very day going to use the technique for MARY WOOLF.

I would not have needed to get far into the alphabet would I ::)
