Hi Sue,

The Fitzpatricks came from Co Offaly in Ireland and their parents had the same names as your grandparents. The children were Bridget, Brendan, Patrick and Mary.Bridget emigrated first and then she paid passage for Brendan, Patrick and Mary.

We know that Mary disappeared once she got to Australia and no one knows what happened to her. She could have got married and changed her name so as not to be found. I was in dublin, Ireland a few weeks ago and I got A death certificate for Timothy Fitzpatrick from approximately 1880. Timothy died aged approximately 85 years old. I can see if I can find anymore information. It seems a big coincidence that both your third grandmother and Mary Fitzpatrick ended up in Austraia. Hope this helps you. Jacqueline

Cheeky Face

Thanks for all your help it is much appreciated, What l can tell you is My 2nd great grandmother was born Maria Fitzpatrick about 1829,in Kings County to Timothy & Bridget Fitzpatrick nee lawer. Maria came to Australia and married a Michael O'Neil in 1855 at Ballarat. Maria died in 1895 in Panmure, Victoria.
I have no other information not even on when or where maria Husband died, not only that Maria's youngest Daughter also known as Mary l have no record of her apart from her birth, don't know if she married or not last know place l heard she may have been in 1895 was Gippsland Victoria, but to Bridget, there is a small rumor that Bridget may have been related to Peter Lawer who also was born in Ireland and came to Australia in the Gold Rush days and became well known person in the area.

Thanks again

Sue
