Salford Cemetery?
« on: Sunday 05 September 10 21:13 BST (UK) »
Hi, I'm trying to find where my grandma's aunt was buried. I have a receipt for a plot bought on the 20th may 1911 by William Holmes, they lived at 19 Rochester avenue salford and it was a class d church of England grave. I even have the plot letter and number g58 but have no idea where exactly they are buried. I also have a receipt for a casket and carriage from an undertaker but unfortunately the name has been lost so all i have is an address 41 broad street, pendleton, Manchester. This appears to no longer exist on this road but without a name i cant trace the company. please, please, please can someone help me!

I would Imagine he is buried in Weaste Cemetery or Agecroft.

As you have a near enough date, ringing Agecroft, should turn up a result.
A D grave would suggest he is buried in the Dissenters section/s, ie non-religious.

I think with that number it is more likely to be Weaste, I can check that out for you, if you want :), Actually, just thought I can check both Cemeteries for you :)

Hi Debbie,
The family member that I'm looking for is Priscilla, I believe she died in 1911 as William bought a plot in may of 1911 and there's a death record for a priscilla that matches the age of our priscilla. I just wanted to know who else was buried in the grave because I believe that my great granddad is buried there as well. I know my great granddad William Hartley lost an arm in a war but I don't know which he's the great granddad I believe is buried there. I also believe that he is the last person buried there as my great grandma who was the younger Sarah Holmes was buried in Blackburn and I have the lease on the grave in Salford but no cemetery name. I would be most grateful if you could have a look for me. I believe that in that grave there is:-
Priscilla Holmes
Sarah Holmes
William Holmes
and William Hartley
Please don't worry if you are unable to find anything as I have a long list of things to do regarding this side of the tree.
Thank you again for the most generous offer.
