Have you checked freebmd for the marriage  There is a possible entry in 1916 but you haven't told us who he married www.freebmd.org.uk

When was he born and where was he born?

Who were his parents

If you have no info - you will need a copy of his marriage cert to establish his age and his fathers name

If you know when and where he died - we can look up his death reg which will give his birthyear

I believe he was born in 1878 in Luton, Beds. Married Edith MacMillan in Cambridge around 1913. He died 1916 in Cambridge, but I don't know how he died. I'd like to know if there were any children. I think he was a railway clerk at one time.

You can find that info by buying a copy of his death cert and by looking for Furlong births on freebmd with a mothers maiden name of MacMillan

As they married in 1916 and you say he died in 1916 - children are doubtful

EDIT

Check freebmd - he died in 1919 aged 39

I now know Frederick married Edith in 1916, but Frederick died in 1919. I notice the transcript on FreeBMD says the marriage was in Camberwell, but that's incorrect...it should read Cambridge, as seen in the original scan of the register.

It says Cambridge when I look at it!
