William John Arnold

My grandfather William John Arnold was born in 1864 in Middlesex or possibly Hertfordshire and was believed to have served in the Army, possibly the Dragoons.  I am new to this research and it is the first time I have used this site. Can anyone tell me how I might findout which regiment he served in and when?

I think some background information would be useful to make sure you are researching the correct man.  Can you find him on any census as a soldier?

If you feel the birth registration found earlier is your man then the maiden name of the mother will be shown on the birth certificate.
