Hi.
1901 census , I am looking for a Elizabeth Sussums bn 1861 Rockland all saints, possibly with husband Willie Sussums.
Living in the Wayland area, maybe Carbrooke or Caston, .

I do have Elizabeths former name etc. and she married in 1891.

Thanks...

Hi Keyboard, Thanks for the details.
At this point i don't think this is them, age is close, but the first child is born 1887.
My Elizabeth Fincham bn Rockland all saints 1861,  married one of two people.
Willie Sussums, or James Groom june qtr 1891, i went for Sussums as i was told some yrs ago there was a connection..

1881 shows a Willie Sussums bn 1867  and living Carbrooke. which i think is my man.....
There is also a William Sussums bn 1858 Carbooke living Caston, i beleive this is your below findings. but not my man..

I have checked marriages for 1891 Carbrooke & Rockland all Saints but cannot find them.

regards

Hi,

Elizabeth must have married James Groom.

The William Sussums born 1867 is married to Harriett on the 1901. With a mother in law Elizabeth Linstead.

The other name on the page is Harriett Louisa Linstead which that 1901 census confirms married William Sussums.

Okay there are no widow James Groom's in 1901 census. However there is this one.
James Groom Head 44 Mar b-Rockland St Peter Farmer
Mary Groom Wife 34 Mar b-Scole
Ernest Groom Son 8 b-Rockland St Peter
Daisy Groom Daur 7 b-Rockland St Peter
Reginald Groom Son 4 b-Rockland St Peter
Arthur Groom Son 3 b-Rockland St Peter
Class:RG13 Piece:1868 Folio:72 Page:2

Daisy was born the same year as Elizabeth died and there is a gap to Reginald b-1897. There is a marriage for a James Groom Jun Qtr 1896 Wayland. 4b 505. to a Mary Foreman. (I matched up the other couple on the page using the census)

I had a look in the baptisms of Rockland St Peter but there are no Grooms. What do you think?

Holly
PS: Two households up are a Thomas and Sussana Fincham. Any chance they are connected?

Hi.

Thank you for your findings, another member has just set me details of the same, so yes this is mine..It is interesting to see that Daisy was bn the same yr as Elizabeths death, perhaps elizabeth died in child birth. I have photographed Elizabeths grave..
wierd there are no  Grooms in the registers as being baptised as it does state bn there, perhaps they were bap at nr by Rockland all saints will check on that one later...
Yes Thomas and susannah Fincham are related to Elizabeth.Elizabeths father was brother to Thomas.., have found all details on that family..

I don't seem to be able to find which parish they married within Wayland.

Kind regards..
