Irish Seamens Relatives Association

I love this site and Peter Mulvaney who created it is a really helpful man who helped our family aquire two medals for relatives who served in the Emergency. The site is a great memorial to those who did not come back.

If any one is seeking information about the SS Isolda and its sinking I have quite a few accounts of the sinking and a lot of anecdotal information I would be happy to pass on.

I might be wrong, but that site appears to be a normal commercial site and not "iIreland's National Police" web site

The Garda website is in fact http://www.garda.ie/

Hello,
Ive just found this site and noticed your post. It was written a long time ago and I hope you are still a member. My grandfather Patrick Shortt was the fireman who died on the SS Isolda which was sunk by the Luftwaffe in December 1940.
I would like to find out more about this and hope we could make contact.
