Funerals in Ireland - www.irishlinks.co.uk/funerals-burial-ireland.htm

The Mosney Road by Karen Downey describes an area of Co. Meath where a Butlin's Holiday Camp was opened in 1948. Butlin's of Mosney had accommodation for 2,800 campers and another 4,000 day visiters. The heirarchy of the Catholic Church almost
had a fit at the very idea of a Holiday Camp in Ireland but the Irish being Irish ignored
the concerns of their priests and enjoyed their holidays at Mosney. Today that camp is now a Refugee Camp for up to 500 Nigerian, Romanian and Czech asylum seekers.

The Economic and Social History Society of Ireland was formed in 1970 to promote the study of economic and social history in Ireland. http://eh.net/eshsi/index.html

"No Irish Need Apply": A Myth of Victimization by Richard Jensen, retired Professor of History, University of Illinois, Chicago was published in the "Journal of Social History"
36.2 (2002) 405-429 http://tigger.uic.edu/~rjensen/no-irish.htm

I've added Gadget's thread on Social History Sources - General UK as some of the items may relate to Ireland.
