Our messages crossed, Dave.  The data on Frederick arriving in Quebec sounds very positive.  Thanks muchly.

What is your interest in Frederick Henry and the Haywards?

Hi Dinah

No particular interest in the Haywards, just being helpful
(We're like that at RootsChat!)

How do you know Frederick's full name, birth place and parents?

How wonderful of you to assist.  Many thanks.

Marriage record/certificate for Frederick Henry dated April 15, 1876:

13364-70 Frederick Henry HAYWARD, 22, waiter, England, Toronto, s/o William and Eliza. married Elizabeth Isabella BRIDG(E)FORD, 17, Guelph, Toronto, d/o John & Harriet, witn: John BRIDG(E)FORD & Sarah Lucy MONAGHAN, both of Toronto, 15 April 1876.

Frederick is my great grandfather.  I have Bridg(e)ford genealogy back to late 1700's.

Again, many thanks, Dave.

Hello again

I must say I am having difficulty in finding any record of Frederick in the UK, let alone with parents called William and Eliza. Having said that there are candidates for this couple in the 1861 Census and they do have a son called Frederick. Trouble is, this Frederick was born in Braintree, Essex. Are you sure your g-grandfather was born in Bermondsey?

I'm finding almost anything is possible.

If we have a Frederick Henry born to William and Eliza, it's possible he wasn't born in Bermondsey and that the family moved there after the 1861 census.

Will have to sort through my documentation to do further investigations.

Thanks ... will keep in touch.
