Hi everyone, I wonder is anyone still researching this line? I'm taking another look at it now after a few years of a break. Have been searching the ancestry records today trying to find  any records of the Doherty brothers going to America. There is one record for John Doherty from athenry. And Charles h Doherty is a familiar name to me. From what I can remember I think he was on some record as having the land near where the Grexxxxh family are now (× out as I cant mention living people here) wonder is he a brother? Would love to tie it back to donegal that would be amazing

Think I have found Martin's passage America. Looks right. He arrived in New York on the ship named the City of Paris. The ship departed from liverpool and queenstown. It arrived in New York on the 22nd of Feb 1883. He was around 19 years old.

Is this your Mary who died at Cartymore?

Is this where she is buried- the townland of Kilskeagh now bisected by the M17?

Yes that's her.  I took a drive down that road today to see if I could spot the graveyard. Would they have gone through a graveyard  to build the road  :'(

Have a look at these maps.

Rathfee townland
https://www.townlands.ie/galway/clare/lackagh/deerpark/rathfee/

It borders to its east Kilskeagh, and right on the eastern edge of Rathfee is Kilskeagh Church and Burial Ground. There is no sign of any other graveyard in Kilskeagh.

From Geohive (OSi), there are the following:
Historic Map 25 inch (1888-1913)
Digital Globe 2011-2013
Cassini 6 inch

https://bit.ly/3f0ZXyj
https://bit.ly/30R26HP
https://bit.ly/3f3Rb2D

These give the location of the ruined Kilskeagh church and burial ground in a forested area. There appears to be no path or road to it.

Mary Doherty nee Morris, Martin Dohertys wife was from roscommon her parents were Thomas Morris and Mary Callary according to her marriage cert. Going to look more into that side. I've found a marriage for Thomas Morris and honor callery but not for Mary yet.
