Hello,

Thanks for the reply & to answer your question, no.
I know very little about Henry Paton except that he was born parish Dollar Clackmannanshire County Scotland about 1850. I still have to confirm this!

His father was John Paton occupation carpenter & mother Jane Gibson.

Once again, I still need confirmation of this.

Although I do know that he joined St Andrews Lodge (Freemasons) in Glasgow and then emigrated to New Zealand.

I sure would appreciate any information that you may find about him.

Thanking you.

Hello Kate & Joe,

Thanks for your reply and info.
Just letting you know that I'm aware of 2 Henry Paton's born Dollar & they both came out to New Zealand on board the 'Canterbury' in 1874.

I've also made contact with the descendants of Henry Paton with sibling Alexander. This family settled Dunedin and Central Otago.

It seems my Henry Paton is still very much a mystery....

After 4 years of work I'm still totally in the dark about Henry Paton, his parents and siblings...

So would appreciate anything....

Hi All,
Would be very interested in any information related to Henry Paton brother of Alexander Paton found in the 1861 Census.  This Alexander born in Kinross is my gg grandfather and I have been unable to track any information about his parents Peter Paton and Margaret (?Isabella) Paton.
My Alexander married Janet Fyfe in Central District, Glasgow.  His son Alexander emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1906.
I have been unable to find Henry in the 1871 Census and believe I nay have had contact with the member looking for the other Henry Paton.
