Islington school circa 1900
« on: Thursday 09 September 10 17:43 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

My grandfather William Randall went to a school in Islington from 1895-1904. He lived at 128 Liverpool Road (a grocer's shop).

Can anyone who is familiar with the area suggest which school he most likely attended?

Many, many thanks.

Brown (Bodham, Middlesbrough), Griffiths (Blaina, Stockton), Randall (Harmondsworth, Islington), Harland (Westminster, Richmond)

I believe 128 Liverpool Road still is a shop - a convenience store (Kalson), opposite the junction with Richmond Avenue.

I can't tell you which school he'd have gone to, but the Islington Local History Centre may well be able to help.  You might find their Barnsbury brochure of interest:
