Does anyone know if it's possible to look up court records from the 1920's?
My Grandmother (Dorothy Mary Bruce Caine b1916 Huddersfield)was illegitimate and we only know the surname of her father BRUCE.
However he did admit his parental responsibility and paid some form of maintenance until she was about 5. When this stopped my great grandmother (Margaret Ellen Caine) successfully sued him in family court to continue with maintenance for the child.
I wondered if I could find the court record whether this would finally solve the mystery of his first name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
