DAGLESS birth

Please could anyone help,At the moment im really confused.
I just cannot find a birth for my grt grt grandfather i thought for sure he was born in 1847 in corpusty norfolk,on the 1851 census ROBERT JOHN DAGLESS was 4 which would make him born 1847 but on his marriage certificate it says he was 37 years of age in 1888 which would make him born in 1851 i have searched everywere and just cannot find him ,PLEASE HELP

There is a Robert Dagless in 1881 census (IGI) b c 1847 wife Elizabeth and 2 children Walter William Dagless age 12 born Saxthorpe and Esther Dagless age 1 born Saxthorpe
Residence In Meadows, Saxthorpe
RG11/1929/61/4

Also on FreeBMD there is a Birth John William Robert Dagless Sept qtr 1846 Aylesham, Vol 13, Page 11

Aylsham district includes Corpusty

A Robert Dagless is married Dec qtr 1868 Aylesham, 4b, 233 and an Elizabeth Jarvis is also names

Is it possible that in the census he used his family name rather than the full given name?

thanks for the info elizabeth jarvis was his first wife,so maybe if i sent of for their marriage certificate his age should be on there.

went to NRO today cannot find death of Robert John Dagless abt 1925?
Checked , parish Saxthorpe & Corpusty,
The Marriage of Thomas Dagless  & Rebecca Haynes Briston 26/11/1805,Ias i thought does not give name of father,all i can tell you is it is ref page 152 # 79 Briston,married by banns ,both signed by X
,witness ,Anne Dagless & Thos Neals,

Birth of Thomas Dagless 1781-1783? Hemstead Norfolk
this is the only Thomas around that date on the parish records,
Thomas Massingham son of John & Margaret Dagless was Bp June 8th 1783,
another entry,
Barbara Dagless Daur of John & Margaret Dagless late Walker born 23rd Dec Bp 26th Dec 1784

It has a Robert Dagless age 53 born Saxthorpe
also

Rosina age 30 b Edgefield
Frederick age 2M b Edgefield
Gladis age 2 b Edgefield
Flossy age 5 b Edgefield
Esther age 21 b Saxthorpe
Rosina age 3 b Edgefield
May age 10 b Edgefield
Violet afe 7 b Edgefield

Robert is given as a farmer census place Edgefield

I am assuming that Robert's second marriage was to Rosina Kingsley in Sep qtr 1888 Aylesham, 4a, 138
