The family is still at Whitegate Terrace, Southowram (as per the birth cert) in 1871, Hannah's mother Mary enumerated as a widow: RG10/4389/76/7. They are house number 40.

Unfortunately I can't find the enumeration of addresses beyond no 38 Whitegate Terrace, Southowram in 1861 (RG9/3277/85/28).

Jan

If dad was called Jervis/Jarvis then it's highly likely that he had a son of the same name- or reversed the names(Henry Jarvis) he of course could be witness to his sisters wedding.

Hannah's mother Mary was 46 in 1871 (b "Keithley" so must be Keighley).

On that basis she was born about 1825, so would have been a decade older than the 15-yr-old JH Jarvis found in 1851.

There is a place called Flockton in West Yorkshire, between Huddersfield and Barnsley.

Try the name Jervis Jaggar on http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=home

OK, so Hannah's elder brother Benjamin JAGGER (20 in 1871) was baptised 14 Oct 1851 in Bradford, son of Gervas and Mary.

(Well found on the pilot, Carol!)

Wow!  You guys are amazing.

I think it's highly likely that Jarvis Henry Jagger was, on some records, Gervas and his son could well have been Henry Jagger and witness to his sister's wedding.  It's quite possible the vicar got a bit muddled.

But where is Henry (her brother) on the earlier Censuses?

Presumably Adella Blann is Mary's sister?

Where are they in 1851?

Oh, and by the way, the lady in the picture is Hannah Jagger.  Gervas/Jarvis and Mary's daughter and my great granny.  The photo was taken circa 1940 and she is holding her first great grandchild (not me, I am the youngest.)  She died in 1945 at the ripe old age of 85!  She worked hard all her life and was, apparently, only some 4'11" tall.  ;D
