Barton Farm, Shutford
« on: Tuesday 14 September 10 17:50 BST (UK) »
Hi,
In 1891 my gt grandmum's will gives the executor as David Thomas of Barton Farm, Shutford, Oxfordshire.
Now I've looked through the 1891 census for Shutford and I can't find Barton Farm, now I'm confused  ???
Does anyone know if this Barton Farm actually existed?

Hi
On the OS map Grid 378 398 there is Barton Hill.
Half way along this road is what may have been Barton Farm.
Try calling the museum in Banbury they are very helpfull.

Cheers NDRFT, I might give them a call.

It does seem very strange that there's no Barton Farm in the census's, I looked through the 1881 and 1901 census of East and West Shutford and still no Barton Farm, would there be a reason why it wouldn't be listed if the farm actually existed?

I'm doing my partner's family history and they lived at Barton Farm Shutford in 1911.

Just asked my partner about this - he remembers visiting the farm as a child - and we have found it on google maps as 2 Church Lane, Shutford.
