Jennet Lewis-Bridgend
« on: Wednesday 15 September 10 16:12 BST (UK) »
Can some one please do a look-up on the 1861 census for Jenette [Jennet] Lewis born c.1858 in Aberkenfig, Bridgend, Glamorgan.  I have her details on the later census [1881-1911] but no other known information for the early period.

Interesting.  On the 1881 and 91 census  Jennet listed as being born in Aberkenfig, while 1901 and 1911 she gave Bridgend as her birthplace.  Could you possibly follow your 61 entry through on the 1871 to see if there are any clues.

Hi,  Aberkenfig is a village in the parish of Newcastle Higher, it's about 3 miles north of Bridgend.  Sorry couldn't find her on the 1871 but the family are not at the Colliers Arms as 1861.

The Colliers Arms is still open ;D
