Do you have an 1891 entry as I can't see one - or a 1901

Are you sure the surname is spelt correctly as there is no birth on freebmd for him either

Robert Snr & Catherine did not marry until 15 Feb 1897 at St John the Evangelist, Newington
He was 52, a widower, son of William Meakins, who was also a chair maker
Catherine was 35, a french polisher, daughter of Jeremiah Cusick, a stone mason
at that time their address was 26 Sayer Street
Wonder what prompted the marriage ... do you think perhaps they were emigrating?

Elizabeth's father was Robert Meakings, chair maker, and her address was 136 Mowbray Buildings (Arthur's was 134 Mowbray Buildings)

Entry is marked "these persons made arrangement for this marriage but did not appear"

The marriage actually took place on the same date at Christ Church, Southwark, where the bride & groom both gave their address as 52 Broadwall
