One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.

Hello Scrimnet, just found this link.   1st.  how long did conscription last after W W 1 finished?
Would a  man   d o b  March  1901 have been called up?  He did not serve in WW1.
Have tried tracing army record for a relative born at this date. All I have is name and D O B.  He always said he had been to  "Mesopotamia".   Have tried Glasgow Record Office,  paid £30, no record found.  The family lived in Islington at this time. He was back there in 1924 when he married, and was a Carman, so he would have left the army.   Do you think I would be able to trace a record from details on this site, re 1913-1923 details?
I would appreciate any help  you may be able to offer
Many thanks   2mm

Shold be re  1919 -1922 details   sorry
