Wiktor Finka

Wiktor Finka died in Hillingdon, Middlesex in 1996 aged 85. He was therefore born about 1911. He was born in Poland and came to Britain sometime before 1943, when he married May Whiting in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.

Is there any way of finding a record of Wiktor's birth in Poland?

His death registration records his birthdate as 2 July 1911.

What was his occupation at the time of the 1943 marriage - was he a serviceman?

Thanks for that. I also found him in the London telephone directory between 1948 and 1974.

Wiktor was one of eight children born in Poremba (near Katowice) to Andrzej Finka.
