Adelaide Hospital Admissions

there are 2 one for D McFARLANE and rthe other Duncan McFARLANE

7 Aug 1849 and 9 Aug 1849. Can't read everything.. He is a seaman aged 54. One says direction of destitute board the other I can only read day (the fees?)
unfortunately this is what is written in the how long in colony last overseas address columb so guess not much was known. Again I can't read the circumstances. (Ascites......................) No wife or children listed.  ???

Cheers Kris  :)

Hi,

At the following Hahndorf Wiki site there is a small write about Duncan McFarlane JP.

Look down at No 9 in the footnotes.

http://hahndorf.wikispot.org/Hahndorf/Historical/Emigration

It mentions him coming to SA in 1838 on the Brig Parland.

It's a great site.

Regards

Gerry

Good find Gerry  ;D

I think we agree that Duncan McFARLANE with Elizabeth NORRIS was not the JP.   ;)

It just does not add up but where and when did Elizabeth's "husband" perish?

I will check the free travel apps when next at library though there is not a lot in them. We will know where the emigrated from (and occs)

Cheers Kris  :)

Kris,

Have a look at http://mepnab.netau.net/mc/mc10.html#mcphie

There is a brief write up on a Duncan McFarlane & Elizabeth arriving on the India with Duncan dying and a widow Elizabeth MacFarlane ( note the Mac) marrying a John Castley on April 18th 1854 at Inverbrackie SA.

Ho yes that's our man but there is a lot that's not correct in my research.
Duncan was a Shephard.
