Hearth Tax Questions
« on: Saturday 18 September 10 22:45 BST (UK) »
I have a few general questions that I noted while reading and learning about the Hearth Tax.  After reading related postings in this forum I did not find the answers.  I am interested in returns only for the City of London & County Middlesex.

1. Are the London & Middlesex returns indexed, transcribed/published? (I aware of the TNA E179 database.)

2. Are there copies of documents also at "County Record Offices" for London & Middlesex?  (Other than copies at TNA.)

3. Have the Exemption Certificates for London & Middlesex been transcribed, indexed/published?

Many thanks.

The Hearth Tax site will become a neccesity to researchers as more data are added.
