« on: Sunday 19 September 10 18:57 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any family connections with a Denis Allen born 1841 who moved from County Clare to Liverpool with his two Daughters Catherine born 1861 and Mary born 1867 , they show on the Liverpool Census of 1871 , but no Mothers details

Mary is my Great Grand Mother who Married a John Donoghue in 1885 , he was also Irish , but unfortunately all I know for definite his Fathers name was Patrick , occupation blacksmith .

Can anyone help please?

Regards

Tony Donoghue

hi
theres a
mary allen born to denis allen and mary hacket 4 oct 1869 mtshannon galway
isaac allen born to denis allen and mary hackett 31 mar 1866 mtshannon galway
mountshannon is in co clare but close to galway county border

on the 1871 english census i see it says denis is married hes not put in hes a widow ,
wonder what happend to his wife ?
have you searched other censuses around area there living to see if wife and possible other kids there ?
have you found family on 1881 census ?

if you write-email to mountshannon church and ask them to look for mary allens baptism and denis and mary hacket,s marriage youll get some info as to fathers names addresses and witnesses

2 possibles
john donoghue 7 april 1868  coom kerry to patrick donoghue and margaret lynch
john donoghue 6 may 1867 killarney kerry to  patrick donoghue and bridget donoghue
what age (date of birth) have you for john ?

good luck

Thanks for the recent replies , I was aware of a stained glass window relating to a denis allen in mountshannon church .

I had no knowledge of Mary Hackett or Isacc Allen , I will write to the church as suggested , also currently only limited records of the family on the 1881 census .

The John Donoghue in question was born approx 1

The John Donoghue in question was born approx 1856 , what I now find , it may be a coincidence is that his eldest son Denis my grand-dad married Elizabeth Hackett in 1912 .
