Heywood,

All I know is he and his daughters ( Catherine and Mary ) were from County Clare .

I was using guess-work with a reference to Denis Allen in Mountshannnon Church around
the period in question I apologise for limited information available .

no need to apologise we can blame Denis 

I have looked again in 1891 for any of them but no sucess- not that it would help much.
I then had a panic because I couldn't find the reference to Denis Allen/Margaret Gorman on Family Search but it is under Galway rather than Clare.
I probably sound like a broken record, but I would try to find out id Margaret Gorman is connected somehow.
Perhaps a birth certificate?
I know when I have gotten certificates from Ireland, I paid by credit card which just then converted the fee. I know though hat some people are reluctant to do this.

I am a Grandson of Denis Allen. My grandfather is the son of Denis Allen and Mary Hackett. Born February 1873.Died Dec.14,1961.He was married to Hannah (Anne) Torpey. She died Jan.16,1961. Buried on Holy Island,County Clare, Parish Iniscealtra.
Gravestone inscription reads:
Tyy Will Be Done
Inloving Memory of
Dennis Allen-Derryoran-died 14 December 1961 Age 89
Anne Allen died 16 January 1962 age 85
Delia Allen died 25 August 1951 age 44
Edward Allen died 4 March1955 age 49
