:)Jolee, Elizabeth's baptism is there on 29 Aug 1819 at Langdon Hills.  The fourth witness at the marriage of Friend and Sarah Ann Roberts is James Roberts signing with J and the high s.  This is most likely her brother James but that is also the name of her father.   Re Friend Fauchon Jnr baptised at Langdon Hills also - I can't find anything further on him at all.  Does anyone have any information on this son please?

Should just mention to anyone else reading these posts that Friend had a fairly short sojourn in Essex.  He was born in Kent and returned to Kent and lived in various places there for the rest of his life so I guess most questions, etc should be on the Kent board.

To Rah1
I do hope you received my reply of 4th January and have been able to now find the information you have been searching for for years.   I would love to know from which of Friend's children you are descended.  A short reply would be much appreciated.

Emmalydia! Hooray! It has taken me over an hour to find how to reply to you!! I am currently travelling and so using an iPad instead of a computer and I thought perhaps
that was the problem .... But at last I have stumbled upon a "reply" button. I still have no idea how.
I find this site very difficult to navigate and so don't use it much. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BREAKTHROUGH RE FRIEND.
I am descended from son Robert, b 1824, via Sarah Fauchon b 1859, whose daughter Jessie was my maternal grandmother.
I will post another reply to you so that I can use pm to send you my email address.

Emmalydia, Now I need to be able to reply as a pm to send you my email address. The help page is no use. It just says " send it as a pm" but the icons only give me the option to "reply" .

I have written a bit about my visit to the part of Normandy where all Fauchons originated, and would love to share it with you. No direct proof of when our Fauchons came to England, but lots of interesting info from the French local archivist and genealogical help person.

Are you using the mobile site? If you go to the home page and scroll right down to the bottom of the page, I think it allows you to go to the full web site. I'm using the full web site on my iPad and it's really easy, which makes me think you might be on the mobile site?
