WEBSTER Reasearch
« on: Tuesday 21 September 10 11:41 BST (UK) »
G'day Chatters,

Because of a little bit of information I have come across I am changing tack with my WEBSTER research.

Would someone be so kind as to do a look up for me please on the 1891 census, for a James WEBSTER. His place of birth is not known but in the 1881 census he was listed as a Widow aged 40.

He would and should have two sons with him;
James William born 1871 at Stepney
William George born 1874 also at Stepney.

Many thanks in advance.

Thank you for your reply Suz.

According to Parloc Stepney and Hackney are on 1.9 miles apart.

Were the other two, William who should be c.40 and William George who should be c.16 listed please on the 1891 census.
Regards

Is this the same family as your post 15 Sept  re William James Webster

I notice I replied and you did not answer -just marked the topic complete???

You seem to have several postings on this family

It seems the James Webster you have found in 1881 census was james Robert Webster -married Eliza Meggs  -Eliza died in 1877 and James lived with his mother in law (marha Meggs) in 1881 with his children james and George

no sign of any of them being b Essex (as in your other topic)

Can you post exactly who you are looking for and what information you already have

It would help if you answered posts - then we would know if we are on the correct track or not

I'm sorry Suz, I marked the last topic "William James WEBSTER" COMPLETE because I felt I was on the wrong track as a result from a little information I had come across just days ago.

Also please forgive me for not replying to your last reply on that Topic. I am sorry for upsetting you but really I do appreciate your assistance.

From what you say, the contents of the 1891 census appear to again defeat my line of research and thought.

The information which has now come to hand is that William James WEBSTER (who I thought could be James William) was aged 40 on his arrival to Australia in 1913, with his wife Harriett nee BARLTROP, aged 38.

William James' death record shows his parents as James and Betsy.

Harriett's death record shows her name as Harriet Hetty and her parents as William and Harriet.

Sorry again if I have misguided anyone, I certainly did not mean to do so.

Kind regards

Hi -no problem - you didn't upset me - if you don't reply we do not know if we are on the right track -also we do not get notification to remind us you are still looking

I'll have another look with the information you have just given - although it may be information you already have
