1891 and 1901 census look please

I am looking for Ernest Charles Tackley born abt 1870 in England,   all the info I have about him is from the scotland census up till 1881 after that his parents move back to Lambeth, London and can't find his on the English census.

can anyone help please

Have you seen his WW1 service record on Ancestry?  He was discharged in 1914 after 28yrs service which could explain why you can't find him on later censuses

He enlisted at age 16

I wondered if he had been in the Military - maybe his marriage Cert would add to what Carole has found ?

not too many Ernest Charles Tackley around - and Colchester is a Military Town   :P

I look on the 1911 census he is not on there

Sorry - I'm daft - he was only discharged 1914 so was still in the Army in 1906

If you look at each of his service records - it may mention a marriage

In his Military papers, his marriage to Ada Annie Blackmore on 16th July, 1906 Chelmsford is recorded.

It seems he was an RSM in his Regiment, and discharged in 1914 in Ewshott (near Fleet, Hants I suspect)

He served 28 years and 181 days. Date stamps showing an 1947 date appear in the records.
