Turrall family Petistree/Woodbridge

Hi,

I'm trying to find out more about the Turrall family of Petistree/Woodbridge.

My g-g-grandmother was Ellen Turrall (b Petistree 1841, d Lexden 1918) who married Edward Clarke of Lexden, Essex, in 1880.  I believe Ellen was the daughter of Henry Turrall (b circa 1804, d Lexden 1876 [??]) and Ann (b 1799 Peasenhall[??], d 1884 Colchester [??]).   They had at least one other child - Henry Sidney Turrall (b 1839 Petistree).

I understand that Henry Turrall was a publican.  In the Ipswich directory of 1844 he is shown at the Three Tuns Coaching Inn at Petistree.

I would love to know more!!

Can't find them in 1851 so guess they must have gone from Suffolk by then.

Robraw - thanks for that.  You have the right Henry junior.  I had the details already for 1881, but didn't for 1871.   The 1871 is very useful (thank you) as I think it is fair to assume from this that Henry junior's wife's maiden name was Child.   

Sue - thanks for the info, it's very helpful.    I didn't know about this Mary Turrall!
