in answer to your query by pm about Williamstown

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/Llantrisant/Williamstown/

www.rootschat.com/links/09ve/

the marriage cert for Frederick Rogers & Mary Louisa Manley would give age & father's name for Fred that might help trace him.

Hi all

Ben32 - it is better to keep your questions and answers together on this thread, rather than communicating with your helpers by PM.  As you have seen, by posting the info received by PM (not usually recommended but forgiven in this case!) Pauline has enabled Osprey to help answer your questions!

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

The death register i have found would put Gladys as born in 1898 so it does look as tho she gave wrong age when getting married! I have found a Gladys Matthews (the name she took on when she left Thomas Colwell and had 3 children by a Matthews in Taunton, Somerset) these children didnt know their parents were not married so death was registered as Matthews

thanx Osprey looks like you have found her but can you find a marriage for Jane Lewis and William Manley (Mary Lousias parents). I can find Jane Manley marrying James Bray but not her marrying William. Their 1st child was born in 1870 in Illminster, Somerset and the 2nd was in Glamorgan. Once again many thanx for your help for such a difficult person to locate!

apologies for the delay in replying, I've been away.

Where did you get the name of Lewis for Jane?
There's a possible marriage  in 1867
William Manley sept qtr 1867 Tiverton vol 5b pg 723 with Jane Ellis on the same page

Think you may be looking at the wrong Manley Family in 1881 - the children don't match up with the family I gave you for 1891. Try the family at RG11/5248 folio 118 pg 39 - children shown are William, James, John, Jane & Louisa.
