It looks like most of the recent searches have been a complete waste of time and that the John McAleer born 1871 to John McAleer and Sarah Kerr is NOT the John McAleer who died in Dublin in 1934.

Let me explain. The 1911 census shows the McAleer family with four grandchildren-
Ruby (transcribed as Reilly) McAleer, age 8, born Scotland
Lily McAleer, age 6, born Scotland
James McAleer, age 2, born Scotland
Willie McGorty, age 9, born strabane

I couldn't find a birth for a William McG* 1900-1904 in Strabane district but I did find the birth of a William John McAleer in 1902 at Strabane Workhouse to an unmarried Mary McAleer who might be the Mary Ann born 1883.

The 3 Scottish grandchildren provided a lot more clues and using Scotland's People (free searches) I found their births, siblings, parents, etc. Ruby, Lily and James all registered in Anderston district along with 2 brothers & mother's maiden name listed as Malloch. The two brothers died young in Anderston district. There is a marriage in the same district for a John McAleer to Sarah Malloch in 1899. The oldest child, John, was born 1900 and I was able to find the family in 1901 census- John, wife Sarah & son John as well as a F. McAleer & James McAleer (likely John's brothers Francis & James).

John McAleer m.(1899 Anderston dist.) Sarah Malloch
1. John McAleer (1900 Anderston dist.-1906 Anderston dist.)
2. Ruby McAleer (1903 Anderston dist.-1963 Milton dist.)
     1911- in Newtownstewart with grandparents
3. Thomas Malloch McAleer (1905 Anderston dist.-1905 Anderston dist.)
4. Lily McAleer (1906 Anderston dist.-1991 Glasgow, Martha St. dist.)
     1911- in Newtownstewart with grandparents
5. James McAleer (1909 Anderston dist.)
     1911- in Newtownstewart with grandparents

Scottish marriage certificate for John McAleer and Sarah Malloch would confirm the names of both parents but even without that final confirmation I can't see how the John McAleer whose 3 surviving children were staying in Newtownstewart could have, at the same time, been living with Mary McLoughlin and ending up dying in Dublin in 1934.
