Thanks Jill, these are so much helpful. Does this mean they are my ancestors or it's only possible for them to be. Almost all the information are already listed.

Hi burritopasta,

First a few useful links for you:

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/

http://freereg.rootsweb.com/

and then there's Ancestry.com but you have to pay!

The middle name of SNOW is very useful in finding your ancestors and the marriage of John Collyer to Elizabeth Snow will be where it came from, so yes, I think they are yours.

It is always useful to get certificates if you can because they give you other information, i.e. names of parents, occupations, etc., so perhaps you can save up a few pennies for those that would be really useful, but in the meantime people here are always willing to help.

Good luck.

If you go the familysearch website, you can search for the marriage of Samuel Collyer and Mary. If you click on "advanced search", then on the next page click "international genealogical index", type in "Samuel Collyer", spouse first name "Mary", "marriage", then add the country and county details England, Derbyshire. A couple of hits come up for Melbourne, but one is a member submitted date of 1821, so its probably best to go by the "extracted"  date of 1824 as they tend to be more accurate
